Watch Christmas in Connecticut Best Movies life time

War hero Dennis Morgan becomes the object of a publicity stunt staged by magazine publisher Sidney Greenstreet. The corpulent print mogul announces that Morgan has won a Christmas dinner, to be prepared by the magazine's housekeeping expert Barbara Stanwyck in her own Connecticut home. The catch: Not only does Stanwyck not have a home in Connecticut, but she's never been in a kitchen in her life! She also doesn't have a husband (as her articles claim), so Stanwyck's erstwhile beau Reginald Gardiner is pressed into service as the hubby. As for the cooking, that will be handled by master chef S. Z. "Cuddles" Sakall. This solves everything, right? No way, Jose. Long dismissed as a lesser film farce, Christmas in Connecticut has its own irresistible charm, and has in recent years become a perennial Christmas TV attraction. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Review For Movie Christmas in Connecticut
Thoroughly moth-eaten.
-TIME Magazine

Peter Godfrey, the director, has a good deal to learn about the art of telling a boudoir joke in the parlor and getting away with it.
-New York Times

Frolicsome in an artificially hearty sort of way.
Pat Graham-Chicago Reader

Barbara Stanwyck uses every acting muscle in her body to redeem this silly holiday romance.
Jeffrey M. Anderson-Combustible Celluloid

If this mildly amusing screwball comedy about mistaken identity has a conservative slant of glorifying housewives it's due to the zeitgeist: It was made in 1945, at the end of WWII, when men were coming home and women sent back to the kitchen.
Emanuel Levy-EmanuelLevy.Com

A sometimes hilarious farce and a holiday favorite.
-TV Guide's Movie Guide

reasonably good fun, and Stanwyck actually overcomes the role's limitations
Christopher Null-Filmcritic.com

Delightfully cheerful screwball comedy that is especially suited for the Christmas holidays.
Dennis Schwartz-Ozus' World Movie Reviews

Breezy, fun holiday comedy that has dated somewhat.
Steve Crum-Kansas City Kansan

Okay, mildly amusing Christmas fare.
Ken Hanke-Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC)

A gem of a holiday comedy: Stanwyck is adorable
James Sanford-Kalamazoo Gazette

Silly as its premise may be, the film itself is both hilarious and heart-warming.
-Film4

All in all, though, this is all very fluffy and silly and perfectly wonderful.
MaryAnn Johanson-Flick Filosopher
